n initial
gift of $10,000 from an Upper Arlington family, (21 members
spanning three generations have been educated in our schools),
along with 35 additional generous gifts, launched the Upper
Arlington Education Foundation. The total assets at the end
of the first year were $104,078.99.
Gifts
in any amount are welcomed. Ways to give include direct gifts,
planned gifts, living endowments, memorials and gifts of recognition,
as well as donations from alumni who wish to acknowledge the
educational opportunities afforded them by the Upper
Arlington City Schools.
A donation
of $10,000 or more may be the base for an Endowment Fund,
in which only the interest is used for a specific purpose.
Flow-Through Funds are also a part of our Foundation.
Ongoing
campaigns reach parents of current students, alumni and the
community at large. Presentations have been made to parent-teacher
organizations, service clubs, and senior citizens of our community.
The Foundation has been marketed through local newspapers,
advertisements in programs of school events, school yearbooks
and newsletters.
Our Foundation
could not have grown and prospered without the wonderful support
and encouragement of our District Superintendent, Dr. Jeffrey
Weaver, and his staff!
